Accounts of Lifting my Jimny
1. Lifted it this way - 1" body, 4" susp.
2. Front: merc springs, Rear: ta-mini springs.
3. Lateral tie-rod, 04 x kayaba shocks, brake hose ext.
4. Local-corrected caster bush.
5. Feedback:
a. Susp too hard/ stiff when lifted, with original tyres.
b. Ride soften when upgraded the tyres to yoko 30x9.5r15 AT.
c. But steering 'eats' to the right. And steering wheel shakes violently
(unable to steer proper).
d. Invested further - corrected-bush replaced, installed a LR steering damper,
wheels went for more balancing.
e. Wheel alignment was done at Champion after failed side-slip tests.
f. Ride got better in handling, but still steering shakes from 75-85km/h.
g. Seeked an'expert' at Defu to do the wheel balancing again. @ PSI - 26.
h. No more shaky-steering, but vehicle hard to handle (sway left-right).
i. Reduced PSI to 24. Steering and handling improves trememdous.
j. But caused engine and gear to drag and steering wheel got heavier
* but very stable, and ease of handling.
g. That's all for now. Make the engine more powerful despite the 'dragg'??
